Pancakes

So my packsister Hish text messages me this morning saying "You need to do a werewolf and a pancake picture. I realized the other day that I have read at least three werewolf books where they seem to eat a pile of pancakes...think about it!"

Hish and I are both werewolf novel nerds and I thought, ya know, she's right! I just got done reading "Bitten" by Kelley Armstrong (again, for the billionth time) last night, and there was a shit ton of pancakes in there. I can't remember other instances, but I am sure there are several mentions in Patricia Briggs books, and many others. Werewolves and pancakes seem to go together!

Do you think it is because they are cheap and full of calories for over-the-top werewolf metabolism? Or do the werewolves somehow get "shifting energy" from maple syrup? Or are pancakes just that badass?

I think pancakes are just that badass, especially when they are made from scratch with real buttermilk and real cost-more-than-gold maple syrup.
